#OnlineLifeDrawing with Nick Coveney

Our Zoom model for this week will be Nick Coveney! I’ve tried to book Nick for in-person sessions previously but various lockdowns has meant that his sessions have always been shuffled back, so I’m really excited that a chance meeting last week meant that we were able to quickly arrange a session for the online group. I will be hosting from Thamesmead Life Drawing HQ in London. Nick has a huge following on instagram and has modelled for many an artist. I’m really pleased that we’re able to book him this week

It was quite a chance meeting. I was accompanying my friend Tea Bendix who had flown in from Denmark for the launch of the Patrick Ness book ‘Different For Boys’ published by Walker Books UK last week. I’d not heard of the writer until that evening but to my surprise my friend Pete Shorney and his husband Steve Whiting surprised me with a hug. They knew Patrick because Pete had drawn Patrick’s husband several times. ‘Oh?’ I queried, ‘Who’s his husband?’

‘Nick Coveney, he’s over there!’

Finally after over a year of trying get to meet him, he was there in the basement of Waterstones TCR looking good in a suit! No wonder I didn’t recognise him! The ticket link to his session is after the gallery below.
